色聚 completed the renovation of 234-236 Newbury Street in Boston, MA. The project consisted of a 6-story, full
gut-rehab project creating 6,000 SF of retail at garden level and 1st floor, with 11 residential units on the 4 floors above.
The project involved the removal of a load-bearing masonry party-wall which divided the building up through the 2
retail levels. The floors above were permanently secured by new structural steel supported by 54 helical mini-piles. The
street facing elevation underwent a 鈥渄ig-out鈥� from the sidewalk to allow for lower level retail access directly from the
street. The rear alley-facing fa莽ade was sliced into at the 3rd floor plate level and a 鈥渂ump-out鈥� addition was constructed
to house an egress stair, fitness area, and roof deck for the residents.
